    NCMS Mission Statement
Our #1 priority is student achievement with high expectations being the responsibility of our entire community.

    NCMS Vision Statement
Everything we do is solely for the students; we believe we can teach all students and that all students will learn given the appropriate resources.

    ACCELERATION PLAN (Adopted 08-07-12)
The academic progress of all students, including those students who exceed curriculum benchmarks, remains a high priority for the school district. Per 1002.3105, Florida Statutes, Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL), the district provides a plan for acceleration decisions within the district’s existing Multi-Tiered System of Supports/Response to Intervention (MTSS/RtI) framework. School level Problem Solving Teams shall review assessment data at the beginning of the school year to determine which students may benefit from acceleration options. High performing students who show the need for additional enrichment and challenging curriculum options are currently placed in the appropriate classroom with differentiated instruction. If you have further questions or would like to inquire about ACCEL options, please contact the school office.

Incoming Ninth Grade Student Orientation Nights

Any time a student transitions from one school to the next, it can be an exciting time for the child and parent alike. Usually, there are plenty of questions and fears of the unknown. In order to help students and parents become familiar with their new schools for next year, the Osceola School District will be hosting the following Ninth Grade Student Orientation Nights for current eighth grade students and their parents:

    January 27, 2015 - St. Cloud High School at 6:30 p.m.

    January 29, 2015 - Osceola High School from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
    Harmony High School from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    February 3, 2015 - Gateway High School from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Poinciana High School at 6:00 p.m.

    February 4, 2015 - Celebration High School at 6:00 p.m.

    February 5, 2015 - Liberty High School from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

    February 28, 2015 - Professional and Technical High School (PATHS) from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Students going into ninth grade next year, along with their parents, are invited to attend to meet their new principals; to get an idea of what classes will be offered; to make their way around the campuses; to learn about curriculum, club, and extracurricular sports offerings; and more. These Orientation Nights will be a great opportunity for parents to get involved in the next step of their child’s education.

Parents with Orientation Night questions are encouraged to contact their individual school.

Informational Meetings To Be Held For Osceola School District's International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs

For the 2015/2016 school year, the Osceola School District will offer the Pre-Diploma Program at Gateway High School and Celebration High School. The two-year Pre-Diploma Program leads to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Parents of highly-motivated eighth grade students at all Osceola middle schools are encouraged to attend an informational meeting outlining the Pre-Diploma requirements, the program features and advantages, the application and selection process, and the rigorous curriculum on any of these following dates:

    --January 15, 2015 - Celebration K-8, located at 510 Campus Street in Celebration, at 6:30 p.m.
--January 20, 2015 - Parkway Middle School, located at 857 Florida Parkway in Kissimmee, at 6:30 p.m.
--January 22, 2015 - Denn John Middle School, located at 2001 Denn John Lane in Kissimmee, at 6:30 p.m.
--January 29, 2015 - Horizon Middle School, located at 2020 Ham Brown Road in Kissimmee, at 6:30 p.m.
--February 5, 2015 - St. Cloud Middle School, located at 1975 Michigan Avenue in St. Cloud, at 6:30 p.m.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is an academically challenging and balanced program of education with final examinations that prepare students for success at a university and beyond. The IB Diploma is awarded to students who pass external examinations in six academic subject areas, complete a course of study in the theory of knowledge, successfully prepare an extended essay reflecting independent research and analysis, and who participate in Creative, Action, and Service (CAS) endeavors. Requirements for the IB Diploma are structured to meet the entrance requirements for the best universities throughout the world while striving to meet the ideals of an international education.

IB attendance zones have been adopted by the Osceola County School Board. Parents/guardians can visit http://www.osceola.k12.fl.us/depts/Facilities/Rezoning2.asp to determine whether their child is eligible to attend the Gateway High School IB Diploma Program or the Celebration High School IB Diploma Program. If a student is accepted into the IB Program at his/her zoned school, transportation will be provided.
